I will be the first one to admit that there is nothing like the smell of a pot of freshly ground coffee or a delicious hot beverage. As a self-proclaimed “expert” on the subject, I am a true believer that “fresh is best”. BUT until recently, I never looked beyond the fact that after a short while of enjoying that first glorious cup, that anything after that time span simply would not be as fresh! What is a T Disc?
The T Disc is a coffee “pod” designed by Tassimo for use in it’s Tassimo single cup pod makers.
How does a T Disc work?
Each T Disc comes with a barcode on top of the container, which instructs the machine to use specific brewing settings. This same bar code instructs the machine to change the water temperature, the amount of water, the brew time and strength. This allows the Tassimo single cup machine to brew a variety of hot drinks: filtered style coffee, cappuccino, short espresso, tea, or hot chocolate. Each beverage serving is fast and simple, taking approximately one minute to make with virtually no clean up!

I first experienced coffee brewed by a single-serve Tassimo Hot Beverage System machine in 2009. It was love at first taste. The coffee comes ready-made in “T (for Tassimo) Discs”. The disposable T-Discs come in a variety of great tasting flavors, and are each given a proprietary bar-code. Once inserted, the Tassimo machine reads the bar code to calculate the amount of water, brewing time, and temperature for the specific beverage.
